  • In the Doghouse

So...remember the chair story? Well we've had the new furniture for about a month including new rugs. All along my mom has let me have free roam and everything's been good. Well....I got bored. Went out in the kitchen and there was this string coming from the edge of the rug. I went to "pick it up" and it kept getting longer and longer and longer. Then all these little fuzzy pieces kept chasing the string. I pulled the rug into the dining room and one thing led to another and...well....I'm back in the doghouse (aka "the extra bedroom"..."the nice room with a view"..."behind closed doors"...no more free roaming).

P.S. One rug down....two more to go! Stay tuned.
  • No Tricks, Just Treats

Hope all my friends had a good Halloween. I  had a good time. My neighbor brought me a box of Halloween dog treats that were awesome. Lots of people came to my house...they looked like giant stuffed dog toys...that was awesome. I dressed up as a cavewoman (dog)..not so awesome. She totally didn't put much thought into my costume this year. Very disappointing. BUT...I had the sweetest pumpkin.  Looked just like me...check out the link. Now that's awesome!

  • Rumble in the Jungle

So...my mom and grandpa take me to the park to run last night. As soon as we get there I see another dog. She was cute so I went up to say hello. Well someone must have sniffed the wrong spot and before I knew it we were going at it. I'm not usually a fighter but the teeth came out, foamy spit was flying and we were both up on two legs. I was just trying to show her that I was the leader, I have no idea what her problem was! My grandpa pulled me away and her mom pulled her away and then we just kind of parted ways. I came away we a cut on my nose and one on my leg, not sure if it was a scratch or a bite but I'm fine. Now don't think I was the weaker one in all this. I am a boxer and I was just trying to take a stance. Don't worry...we're all fine and it really didn't get ugly. Sometimes I tend to elaborate a bit on  my adventures.

Later down the path I came across another dog. Her name was Grizzy. No problems there. We had a blast. I think she likes to run as much as I do so we had a good time.
After the run we went up to the pump and got a nice cold drink of water and went home. I hope I see her again.

So I came home, had a good dinner... Mom gave me roast beef and gravy on my lamb kibble... Jumped up on my chair, licked my wounds, and fell asleep.

*sigh*  I do have a good life.
  • Where's My Chair?

Something's going on. Last Friday they moved my chair and all the other furniture out of the living room and IT'S STILL NOT BACK! The floor is hard, I can't see out the window unless I jump on the ledge which I'm not supposed to do...Oh well!!...and every time I bark the room barks back.

    WHERE IS MY CHAIR?

Aha...she forgot to close her bedroom door today...Yippee.....time to snoop and snuggle!
  • Sun, Fun, Fall and Chicken

I had a great weekend. The weather was perfect. I love the sun! My mom says today is the first day of Fall. Not quite sure what that means but I hope she doesn't get hurt at work.

We painted our living room yesterday and my chair is not where it should be. I sure hope this doesn't last...it's a bit of a stretch to see out the window. No problem...when she leaves I just jump up on the window ledge anyway. She hates that but a dog has to check the lot you know.

Oh well...she should be coming home in a little bit. I  hope I get that chicken again. Our friend Patsy came down with this pot of chicken parts and YUM, YUM....that kibble gets old after awhile...those little add-ins make it so much more tasty!

I'm really getting hungry. I think I'm going to go see if I can find a few morsels around my dish.

    See ya!
  • Happy Birthday to ME!

Today is my birthday. I'm 3. I only got to see my mom this morning and she gave me this really awesome hammerhead shark then she had to work at the Canfield Fair. I thought I was going to be home alone all day but my Grandpa came to get me and we went to the park all day. I found the best mud puddle and then he let me swim in the pond to rinse off. When I got home I had dog burgers my mom made me and Grandma and Grandpa went to Handel's and got me a Puppy Treat. It was really good. My sister came to see me too and brought me some treats.

Even though I didn't get to spend the day with my mom....I did have a great birthday. I'm spending the next couple nights with the grandparents while my mom is at the fair, then back home on Friday. I think my mom has more presents for me and I heard her talking about having a party on Sunday so it sounds like I'm going to make out pretty good.  I just give her those sad puppy eyes and the guilt will just be too much for her...MORE PRESENTS!!!

P.S.  If you go out to the fair...go see my mom...she'll be at one of news tents...Just ask for Bella's mom!

  • Making Friends

I just wanted to send a Bark Out to my new friend Charlie! I met him Saturday at the park. We had a ball. We ran like crazy.  Almost knocked down my mom and his dad...couldn't help it...we were just having so much fun we weren't paying attention to where we were going. Okay....we knew what we were doing but it's so much more fun to run around obstacles than in an open field.

    Anyway...I had a ball...thanks Charlie.

    See you soon.

P.S. I still think I'm faster than you!
  • Something About A Grill

There's something about a grill that makes me drool. Not just wet in the mouth...I'm barkin' major drool that I can't control.

Take Saturday for instance...they pull the grill out in the drive and light it up. Sniff, sniff. Oh boy! My sister brings out this steak as big as a groundhog and as soon as it hits the grill it smoks and sizzles and Oh, OH.... OH THAT SMELL. I can't take it, I'm drooling out of control. I really hope some of that is coming my way. So I patiently lay right beside it, just in case something falls, and I wait, and I sniff...and I wait...and I drool...and I sniff....and FINALLY...IT'S DONE! We all go in the house and I strike my "look at  me how cute I am pose".  I'm trying so hard not to drool all over the floor. My mom goes in and gets my food dish, oh boy, this could be good...NO...she's going for the kibble...NO....I WANT STEAK!!!! Wait...she goes over to my sister and she puts something in the dish. My mom takes my dish to my room and I'm running like there's no tomorrow...she puts the dish down and YES...Kibble and STEAK!!!! The steak was awesome...the kibble...well...it'll be there later if I get hungry!

    *sigh* I love the grill!
  • Weekend Warrior

I love the weekends! Mom's off so I get to go to the park to run. I run so much that when I come home the muscles stiffen up a bit but it's a good hurt.

Got to see some old friends this weekend. Lucy, my old running buddy. We did a few laps but we're not as young as we used to be. Drank a bottle of water and moved on.

Then we ran into Maggie and Grace. I get them confused even though they are different colors but I like them both.

After all that...ended up with only one little tick that my mom flicked off, got a semi-bath because I accidentally ran into a mud puddle *hee, hee* then laid in the sun the rest of the time.

Oh wait...Friday night...must've been a full moon...animals running everywhere. Rabbits, raccoons, squirrels...it was crazy. I was just trying to rest and they're everywhere running around...what else could I do but chase them. Hey...it's my turf! I've never caught anything and I'm not sure what I would do if I did.

Any critter catching stories out there?
  • RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY!

Like I mentioned before...I like water...but rain is not the kind of water I was talking about. We tried to go for a walk this morning but I kept getting dropped on and then I just felt icky. I know I stunk too because my mom was kind of making a funny face when I tried to dry myself off on her leg. It's that damp dog smell. Just not good and I'm so all about good hygiene.

Don Guthrie is my friend. I've met him in person...for real...he came to my house one day. He's a pretty good guy, he likes dogs,  but this rain has got to end soon it's really cutting into my morning walk time. How 'bout it Don...a little sunshine please?

Now I guess I'll spend the rest of day trying to make up some new rainy day games. Any ideas out there?
  • Leave it Behind It's Mine

So last night after dinner my mom decides that she (not me) needs a snack. I'm not sure what it was but it smelled so good. So my neighbor Chloe's dad comes over and asks my mom to go over to see something. She puts the food on the kitchen table and leaves. Sniff, sniff! I'm alone with the food. First thing I do is run to her room and look out the window...yep...she's on her way next door. So I decide to mess up her dresser a bit by pulling a box of jewelry off and onto the floor...just a bit of a diversion...well...actually I was just mad that I didn't get to go play with Chloe. Then I run out to the dining room and it hit me...that smell. My mouth starts to water and I can't hold back any longer. I have to see what it is. So I kind of stand up on the chair and there's the plate...not sure what it was but it smelled like cheese. I love cheese. I thought if I just take a few pieces she won't miss it so that's what I did. It was potatoes with cheese and ketchup and it was Deeeeelicious! She'll never know.

Mom comes home, sees the food still on the table, tells me what a good girl I am and she gives me MORE potatoes with cheese! I love it! I get away with it every time.

I don't eat a lot of people food but I do have a few favorites. What's your favorite people food?

P.S. When she went to bed she did find the jewelry mess but I think because I didn't fall into the temptation of the food (HA!) she didn't make a big fuss. I love my life.
  • Diggin' Dirt

There's so much going on around my house. These guys in green shirts have been showing up every day and they ride around on these huge machines digging holes in all the neighbors' yards.

Now why is it okay that they can dig in all those yards...and I'm talking BIG HOLES...and nobody comes out yelling at them.

I dig a small little hole in the backyard and she yells as if the house is being eaten alive. Talk about overreacting!

Maybe I should get one of those green shirts!

I don't really think my digging is a bad thing...I've done worse...she just hasn't caught me.

Let's dish dirt...what little sneaky bad habits do you have?
  • Summer Vacation

It looks like my neighbor, Max is off on another trip. I sit in the drive and watch as he's running around...smiling and wagging his tail...jumps in the back of the SUV thinking he's off on another family trip. Little does he know, while his family heads to the beach, Max is going to grandma's house. Max's grandma doesn't really like him all that much but she does drop a lot of scraps while cooking.

My mom takes me to a lot of places but I've never went on a summer vacation other than to my grandma and grandpa's house which is fine. My grandma drops a lot of scraps too...must be a grandma thing.

Does anyone know of a good pet friendly summer vacation spot so I can drop some hints.

P.S.  I love to swim and run.
