Akron-based FirstEnergy had wanted to automatically mail two bulbs to every customer and then add a surcharge onto electric bills that exceeded the cost of the bulbs. State offices were flooded with protests. A spokesman for the Ohio Consumers' Counsel says making the bulbs voluntary is a good move. Other components of FirstEnergy's new plan include energy-saving thermostats and incentives for buying energy-efficient appliances.

While many council members do not agree with that residency rule decision, they voted to pay Wrenn , who was fired for moving to Poland. The city has re-hired Wrenn as a firefighter. Her mother's lawsuit claims PennDOT and various parties involved in development near the road are responsible for a plugged stormwater pipe that backed up, causing the ice. PennDOT has yet to respond to the suit. Does the family have a case or is this a frivolous lawsuit?

Ask First News this Morning-"Live Blog" Weekday Mornings 5-7 a.m.

Have a question for Jeff, Amy or Rich? Blog Live with us each weekday morning and maybe we will even use your question as part of the show.

Former Judge Maureen Cronin Pleads Guilty

Former Mahoning County Judge Maureen Cronin guilty to federal charges of withholding information about an 18 thousand dollar loan from an unnamed area business executive.
